Guide to Using 010 Editor with Miru97’s 010 Scripts
This guide will help you set up and use Miru97’s scripts with 010 Editor to edit and inject textures into rpack files.
Requirements
- 010 Editor
- Download it here: https://www.sweetscape.com/.
- Install the software after downloading it.
- Scripts by Miru97
- Download the scripts from this link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/semijcrbwmh1z0i/010+RPACK+SCRPTS.zip/file.
- Texture Editing Software
- Install a program like Paint.NET for editing textures.
Licensing 010 Editor
You have two options for using 010 Editor:
Option 1: Trial Version
- Use the trial version and reinstall it when the trial expires.
Option 2: Purchase a License Key
- Buy an official license key from the software’s website or an authorized reseller.
- If you experience issues with activation, refer to the software’s official support page for troubleshooting.
Setting Up the Scripts
- Open 010 Editor.
- Go to View > Installed Templates.
- Click on Add and then:
- Add the
rp6l.bt
file from the scripts package. - Set the File mask to
*rpack
. - Set the ID Bytes to
52 50 36 4C
.
- Add the
Unpacking Textures
- In 010 Editor, click on Scripts > Open Script.
- Select the unpack script from the downloaded package.
- Run the script on the target for example.
common_textures_0_pc.rpack
- Wait for the unpacking process to complete (this might take some time, and it might not even extract all the way; if it doesn't, the only thing I can suggest is trying again).
Editing Textures
- Locate the specific texture you want to edit:
- Look for files labeled as DIF; that's usually the main texture that most people are interested in editing, but there are others like RGH, NRM, SPC, and more. I will add on to a list somewhere with an explanation of what each does: then make sure you have the FPP (First Person Textures) and TPP (Third Person Textures).
- Save their descriptors and headers in a folder for later use.
- Open the texture in Paint.NET (or another editor).
- Make the desired changes to the texture.
- Save the edited file.
Injecting Modified Textures
- Go back to 010 Editor click on Scripts > Open Script
- Open the inject script from the downloaded package.
- Select the
common_textures_0_pc.rpack
file you want to inject into. - Choose the folders with your textures folder setup; it should be like this: a folder with the folders that have the textures and headers that you copied and pasted from the extracted rpack, and you should have the Desc files in there with your folder with the textures that are in there own folders with code names on them then click Open.
- The script will inject the texture into the target file.
Handling .meta Files
- After injecting textures, a
.meta
file is created at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dying Light 2\ph\work\data_platform\pc\assets . - Important: These
.meta
files break with updates, so:- Delete the
.meta
file. - Re-inject the textures as needed.
- Delete the
